Takin' a Swim

from Return by Foreign Monkeys

/

about

The second single. A song about taking a dive into the unknown

lyrics

The situation had started to egress
And everything was a complete mess
In my mind there wasn’t any doubt
I had to find my own way out

No way around those heavy concrete walls
I had built around my empty halls
I had to play on myself the trick
That had made me so damn slick

I was taking a swim
In an ocean full of sin
Irritation all around
As the salt burned my skin
Felt cold and kind of numb
In this world I was living in

Without help and negotiations
No way out of this situation
It might get tight, sure it will be tough
And I’ll need to leave behind my bluff

I was taking a swim
In an ocean full of sin
Irritation all around
As the salt burned my skin
I was taking a swim
In an ocean full of sin
Irritation all around
As the salt burned my skin
Felt cold and kind of numb
In this world I was living in
